Safety Tips:

Only YOU can prevent a drowning! Watch your child closely at all times! Make sure doors leading to the pool area are closed and locked. Young children can slip away and into the pool in less than one minute.
Proper supervision is critical! No one should ever swim alone regardless of age and ability.
Completely fence the pool. Install self-closing and self-latching gates. Position latches out of reach of young children. Keep all doors and windows leading to the pool area secure to prevent small children from getting to the pool. Effective barriers and locks are necessary preventive measures, but there is no substitute for supervision.
Clean the pool each day and test water quality at regular intervals. Maintain proper chemical levels to ensure swimmers safety.
Pool lighting should be used if the pool remains open after sunset.
Ground fault interrupters should be present and tested monthly to help prevent electrical shock around the pool area.
Never leave a child unsupervised near a pool.
Have a telephone at poolside to avoid having to leave children unattended in or near the pool to answer a telephone elsewhere. Keep emergency numbers at the poolside telephone.

Learn CPR.
